Brandy Hall disappeared without a trace.
And police suspect that her former fire captain holds the key to unlocking what befell Brandy on August 17, 2006. You see, after Brandy was reported missing, captain Randall Richmond told detectives that he hadn’t spoken to or seen the 32-year-old in weeks.
But he was lying.
Not only was his contact with her voluminous, Brandy received a phone call from Richmond the night in question.
“When we looked at her phone records it was upwards of 70 contacts a day, and after that 11 o’clock phone call he never tried calling her again,” said one of the investigators working the case.
Brandy was a volunteer firefighter at the Malabar Fire Department in Florida. She previously worked under Richmond at the Palm Bay Fire Department.
Brandy and Richmond were both married to other people, with Richmond emphatically claiming that their relationship was strictly platonic.
But that also appears to be a lie.
In this Crime Watch Daily investigation, I talk to Brandy’s best friend, who states that Randall Richmond and Brandy were way more than just friends.
Part One:
There was the alleged affair, but there was also Randall Richmond’s story of what Brandy told him the night she went missing — it just doesn’t add up, detectives say. Her husband was already facing a lengthy prison sentence.
It’s unlikely she would desert her kids.
Part Two:Â
And then there’s this explosive nugget from the investigation of what a patrolman witnessed the night of Brandy’s disappearance:
“One of our officers, she comes from east over here, passed Home Depot, and sees the same type of truck that Brandy was driving that night, and when she glanced over here, which was a Hess Station at the time, she noticed that fire department vehicle, a captain’s truck, didn’t think anything of it, but there’s only two or three of them in the city at the time, and went on her way home.”
As you’ll see, we tried numerous times to get Richmond to comment the police’s allegations. But he continues to dodge us.
Part Three:
While Brandy has never been located, her vehicle was recovered at the same spot where she and Richmond would allegedly rendezvous during their extramarital affair.
“There was blood on the driver’s floorboard, like the mat pocket was full of blood, there was even some blood on one of the seats,” police say.
