Brandon Ellingson and a bunch of his buddies were boating on the Lake of the Ozarks.
They were pulled over by Trooper Anthony Piercy on suspicions of boating while intoxicated.
Brandon was the driver, so he was hauled into Trooper Piercy’s police boat.
Piercy handcuffed Brandon, put a lifejacket over him, but — inexplicably — did not put Brandon’s hands through the vest.
Then, according to eyewitness accounts, Piercy speeds away on his boat, and Brandon falls into the lake.
But, remember, Piercy never put the 20-year-old’s hands through the lifejacket.
So Brandon slips out of the vest and drowns… while in police custody.
This incident put Piercy on the other side of the law, as he was charged in Brandon’s death.
But was his sentencing tough enough, or did it make a mockery of justice?
And…we confront Missouri State Trooper Anthony Piercy…
