In August of ’07, Michelle Malkin approached me to ask if I’d be willing to confront Rep. John Murtha on camera. Murtha, you may recall, is the execrable congressman from Pennsylvania who wrongly accused Marines in Haditha, Iraq of being cold-blooded murderers.
Keep in mind that Murtha’s rash, unfounded allegation came before there were any internal investigations to establish if the Marines, in fact, were complicit in any transgression.
Don’t the men and women who put their lives on the line deserve the presumption of innocence, especially when they are tasked with the dangerous duty of killing al-Qaeda operatives? And now that the Marines have been cleared of wrongdoing, don’t you, John Murtha, owe them a huge apology?
A resignation in disgrace, perhaps?
